ME & AI

I’m someone from a non-technical background who became increasingly interested in what AI makes possible, both for individuals and for the way businesses work. There’s an optimism to that, but also some urgency. If this technology is going to reshape so much of how we work, I’d rather understand it, experiment with it and learn how to use it well than watch it happen from the sidelines.

A better way of working

I’ve always been drawn to optimisation: looking at the smaller processes that make up a bigger system and asking whether they can work better.

That mindset is a big part of what pulled me towards AI. Used properly, it can remove friction, make previously difficult tasks accessible and create a surprisingly large uplift from relatively small changes in how a workflow is designed.

Coming from outside a technical background has meant learning a lot from the ground up. At the same time, AI has lowered barriers that previously made whole areas of building and technology feel out of reach. That combination has made the learning process as interesting to me as the finished result.

What I’m exploring now

Much of my focus so far has been on getting better results from AI through stronger workflows, clearer context and disciplined iteration.

I’m now increasingly interested in agentic AI: moving beyond individual prompts towards systems that can work towards wider goals, understand the context around a task and operate more effectively within a business.

I’m equally interested in the human side of adoption. The first steps with AI do not need to be complicated. Helping someone understand the basics, from skills and plugins to better ways of iterating, can be enough to get them moving and discovering what is useful for themselves.
